Don't you just love God's sense of humour!

Anyone can read the Bible. God has no favourites and doesn't exclude anyone. Doesn't matter if you've never picked it up in your life before. We all started somewhere. Some of us from nowhere. But God always welcomes us to His Word.
You know it really doesn't matter if you used to read the Bible and then something happened and somehow you just never felt like reading it after that. Open it up. Just slowly at first if you like. Get used to all the different styles of writing in there. The book of Genesis. I particularly like the very first part where it tells us how God made the world and all the things in the world. I love creativity!
Then a bit further on there's Psalms. You might be familiar with Psalm 23. It begins, 'The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want'. Or you could say it like this, 'The Lord looks after me, and I don't lack anything.'
You might have just gone through a really bad patch when things went all wrong and it seemed that everyone was against you and you made a few mistakes. Life is tough. God is very patient.
I know several people who have lost loved ones and really never been able to come to terms with it. Many of them blame God.
It's ok. God doesn't blame you for blaming Him. He would just like the opportunity to talk to you through His Word, the Bible, and help you find the answers you so desperately need. God can do that for you when you're ready.
Does thinking of the Bible make you feel that you should have lived a better life if you want to touch the Holy book. Maybe your hands feel dirty. Some things you've done were wrong and it's left you feeling 'not clean enough'. You know Who's good with stains!! Jesus! (Forget Daz! That's just a marketing ploy!)Jesus is no marketing ploy. He's the real deal. And He comes with a lifetime guarantee. When I started reading the Bible it was all 'Thee's, Thou's and Thou shalt not's! There's much more choice today. I use the New Internation Version with notes. Try to see if you can pick up a copy.
If you can, turn over to the New Testament and have a look through John, reading it page by page. If you can't, just skim a few verses and pages and then come back to it when your mind has cleared a bit.
Once you get to John 3 verse 16 you will realize just how much God loves you. YES, YOU! You can take that verse PERSONALLY! It says, because He loved the world so much, He actually gave His only Son to die, so that whoever BELIEVES in Him could have eternal life.
See, He's more than ready to welcome you to read His word. You'll have lots of questions. Fears perhaps. There will no doubt be moments or days where fear seems to take over and you feel you have to run from God's Word again.
Could I just encourage you to stick around. I'll tell you why. First of all, when you really get to know God, life is never quite the same again. He makes people stronger. He gives us peace. He teaches us what to leave out in life and what to develop in life to make us truly fulfilled and happy.
Secondly, God has a plan for your life. If you can find out what that plan is, you will feel whole, positive, fulfilled and confident. That's worth reaching for. It really is. There may be something completely different keeping you from reading the Bible. If you are perhaps struggling with physical illness, addiction or too much responsibility, you may find you want to talk to someone first. If so, just use the Contact page, put in your details and submit them. I will contact you, probably initially by email if you have an email address.
This website has been set up solely to help people wherever they are in life. Give yourself a new chance. Don't worry about the messy stuff and the confusion and doubts at the moment.
Stick around and we'll find some new ground for you where you can stand strong and begin to enjoy life again! You may find it helpful to read 'Soul Centred', a Bible verse for each day with an easily understood explanation to go with it. You'll find it on the menu bar at the right hand side. I know mature Christians who are getting something from it every day, so it's worthwhile having a look.

God bless you!
